The Ruth T. Bigham Oak Island Senior Center (OISC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded by it's initial members in 1979. 

It is dedicated to the needs and desires of the senior citizens of Brunswick County, NC through fellowship, activities, and enrichment for those 50 years of age and older. 

The Center is maintained and operated by its members and volunteers.

Gift Shop

In addition to being the local Senior Center, it also has a community-based gallery open to the public featuring a large selection of gifts hand-crafted by our artisan members. Stop by today for a unique, one-of-a-kind gift in a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. Located just across the street from the Oak Island Food Lion on 59th East Oak Island Drive. 

The Gift Shop is open Monday - Saturday 

10am to 5pm (Summer Hours)

10am to 4pm (Winter Hours)

Cell Phones For Soldiers uses proceeds from donated cell phones to purchase international calling cards for troops to call home and to provide emergency funding to veterans.  We accept all working or broken cell phones, tablets, mp3 players and associated chargers.   No computers.
